Vrh is located on a plateau in the interior of Krk island, about 5 kilometers northwest of the city of Krk. As the name suggests (Vrh means peak or top), the place has a fantastic view of the Punat bay and the neighboring islands of Cres and Rab due to its elevated position. The village has preserved its traditional charm with stone houses and narrow streets. The main attraction for foodies is the 'House of Krk Ham' (Kuća krčkog pršuta), where the famous Krčki Pršut is produced according to traditional methods. This ham is the first Croatian delicacy to be protected at the EU level. Visitors can learn about the entire process and taste the ham together with local olive oil and wine. The area around Vrh is handy for hikers and cyclists, as numerous trails lead through olive groves and oak forests. Despite its inland location, the beautiful beaches of Krk city or the Jert bay in Pinezići are just a short drive away. Vrh provides the excellent combination of gastronomic experience, tranquility, and proximity to the island's main sights.
