💡 Tips
- Visit the Blue Lake (Modro Jezero) in the morning when the sunlight makes the water's color most lively.
- Wear sturdy walking shoes if you plan to descend to the water's edge via the steep zigzag path.
- Try the local challenge at the Red Lake: throw a stone from the rim, air currents make hitting the water much harder than it looks.
- In late summer, the Blue Lake may dry up completely; if so, locals hold a traditional football match on the lakebed.
- Park at the designated lot near Topana Fortress to easily reach both lakes on foot.

Drum is located in the heart of the Dalmatian hinterland, not far from the city of Imotski. The region is famous for its unique karst phenomena, above all the Blue and Red Lakes, which are among Croatia's most impressive natural monuments. The village of Drum itself nestles against the fertile plains of the Imotski basin, where viticulture has been practiced for centuries. Visitors appreciate Drum for its authentic atmosphere and the hospitality of its residents. The area is excellent for agrotourism. Many old stone houses have been lovingly converted into holiday villas with pools, offering peace and privacy. Hikes through the vineyards or bike rides along the Vrljika, a crystal-clear river in the plain, are popular leisure activities. A must is tasting the local wine, especially the Kujundžuša variety, which is typical of this region. The local cuisine features specialties like hinterland ham, bread baked under the peka, and meat dishes. Thanks to the new tunnel through the Biokovo mountain, the Makarska Riviera and its beaches are reachable in just 30 minutes, making Drum a good starting point for combining rural and seaside holidays.
