Donji Proložac lies on the western edge of the fertile Imotski Field, right below the slopes of the Biokovo massif. The village is famous for Prološko blato, a protected wetland that transforms into a large lake during the rainy season and dries out in the summer. In the midst of this area lies the small island of Manastir with the ruins of an ancient monastery. The region is defined by karst phenomena such as the Badnjevice Canyon, through which the Vrljika River flows. Donji Proložac maintains strong traditions, most notably displayed in the annual 'Living Nativity Scene' project at Christmas, which attracts thousands of visitors. Its proximity to the famous Blue and Red Lakes of Imotski makes the village an attractive destination for nature tourists. Agriculture, especially wine and vegetable farming, still plays a central role here.
