Jinjing is located in the southern part of Pingtan Island and is considered one of the most beautiful coastal areas in Fujian Province. Tannan Bay (坛南湾沙滩) is the crown jewel of the region, featuring silvery-white fine sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters. The bay is often less crowded than other beaches on the island, maintaining a natural, almost pristine atmosphere. A major highlight is the seasonal 'Blue Tears' phenomenon (bioluminescence), where microorganisms light up the water in neon blue at night. Jinjing also gives a glimpse into the traditional island lifestyle with its characteristic stone houses made of local granite. The coastal road has panoramic ocean views and is convenient for cycling. Culinarily, one should definitely try the local seafood dishes and 'Shi Pa Gen' noodles. The town is excellently connected to the mainland via the new Pingtan bridges, making it for beach lovers in China.
