Grand Bend
Grand Bend is one of Southern Ontario’s most active summer hotspots, located directly on the shores of Lake Huron. It draws an energetic crowd to its bustling Main Street, which is lined with beachwear shops, lively outdoor patios, and diverse restaurants. The main beach features soft sand and certified Blue Flag water quality, serving as a hub for swimming, beach volleyball, and parasailing. Just south of the town lies Pinery Provincial Park, home to rare oak savanna ecosystems, extensive hiking trails, and excellent canoeing on the Old Ausable Channel. Food lovers can enjoy locally caught pickerel and farm-to-table dining fueled by the surrounding Huron County agricultural region. Accessible by a two-hour drive from London or a three-hour trip from Toronto, the town transforms into a busy resort hub during July and August. Spring and autumn offer peaceful bird-watching and nature trails at the Pinery without the summer crowds.
