Kordié is a town and the headquarters of the department of the same name in Sanguié Province, within the Centre-Ouest region of Burkina Faso. The town is situated in the central-west of the country and is characterized by a gently undulating savanna landscape featuring characteristic baobab trees. The population predominantly belongs to the Gourounsi ethnic group, renowned in the region for their artistic murals and fortified mud structures. Economically, Kordié is heavily influenced by subsistence farming, with grain cultivation and livestock raising being the primary sources of income. Historically, Kordié was a site of local disputes during the colonial era but maintained its cultural autonomy through strong traditional structures. The town houses a local health center and several educational institutions that serve as a hub for the surrounding rural population.
