The Esteros del Iberá in Corrientes province is one of the largest wetlands in the world and a paradise for wildlife observation. This vast mosaic of swamps, lagoons, and floating islands is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife. Visitors can spot capybaras, marsh deer, caimans, giant otters, and hundreds of bird species in their natural habitat during boat trips and hikes. The park is also the scene of one of South America's most ambitious rewilding projects, reintroducing species that had disappeared from the region, such as the jaguar, the giant anteater, and the green macaw. Thanks to the efforts of conservation organizations and the local community, Iberá has become a top ecotourism destination, offering unforgettable experiences in a restored and protected landscape.

Autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November) offer the most pleasant temperatures and fewer mosquitoes. During these seasons animals are most active and the water is clear.

Shortly after sunrise and before sunset are the best times to spot caimans, capybaras, and howler monkeys. These hours are cooler and animals emerge from cover.

Do not feed the animals as it alters their natural behavior and habituates them to humans. Keep distance from caimans and other wildlife, especially during breeding season.

Binoculars are essential for spotting birds and mammals in the trees. Bring insect repellent and long-sleeved clothing to protect against mosquitoes.
