Llumeneres is one of the smallest and highest inhabited hamlets in the Principality of Andorra, located within the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria. The settlement sits at an altitude of approximately 1,820 meters on the sunny slopes of the valley and is renowned for its extreme tranquility and isolation. Historically, the village served as a center for alpine farming, with livestock rearing and hay harvesting being the primary sources of livelihood for its few residents. The most significant structure is the Chapel of Sant Romà de Llumeneres, a small religious building with a rectangular floor plan and a semicircular apse, typical of the region's rural vernacular architecture. Due to its very low population, which often numbers in the single digits, Llumeneres preserves an authentic atmosphere of old Andorra, far removed from modern mass tourism. The surrounding environment is characterized by dense forests and alpine meadows that provide habitats for numerous local wildlife species.
