Bixessarri is a scenic village in the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria, situated in southwestern Andorra on the border with Spain. The settlement is located at an altitude of approximately 1,100 meters on the banks of the Os river, which flows through a narrow valley. Bixessarri is regarded as one of the best-preserved examples of traditional Andorran architecture, characterized by narrow streets and houses built from rough stone and timber. At the heart of the village stands the Church of Sant Esteve de Bixessarri, an 18th-century structure with a rectangular floor plan and a distinctive bell tower. Historically, the location was a significant transit point for trade and smuggling between Andorra and the Spanish region of Alt Urgell. The surrounding area features steep forested slopes and rock formations, making it a favorite spot for hikers and nature enthusiasts. A stone arched bridge crosses the river, linking the various parts of the village. Despite its secluded feel, the village is accessible via a well-maintained road that continues toward the Spanish enclave of Civís. The tranquility and authenticity of the site make Bixessarri an essential part of Andorra's cultural heritage.
