Aixovall is a strategically important settlement in the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria, situated at the confluence of the Valira River and the Os de Civís stream. The village serves as the northern gateway to the Sant Julià municipality and is a significant educational hub for the entire country. It is home to the national vocational training center, Centre de Formació Professional d'Aixovall, which plays a pivotal role in the technical education of Andorran youth. Historically, Aixovall was a transit point for merchants and travelers moving between the capital, Andorra la Vella, and the Spanish border. Sportingly, the location is famous for the Camp d'Esports d'Aixovall, which for decades was the country's primary football stadium, hosting numerous international matches for the national team and European club competitions. Its position at the base of a narrow valley results in dense construction that clings closely to the surrounding rock faces.
