Beni Add Caves
The Beni Add Cave in the Tlemcen National Park is a geological wonder that was formed around 65,000 years ago. Visitors are drawn to the limestone stalactites and stalagmites growing in the cool, damp chambers. The main gallery stretches for several hundred meters and is accessible to the public via a well-lit pathway. Historically, the cave served as a refuge for local tribes and later for Algerian fighters during the War of Independence. The constant temperature of 13°C inside makes it a convenient retreat from the summer heat of the Tlemcen region. The cave is easily accessible via paved roads from the city of Tlemcen. A visit during the spring or autumn months gives the most pleasant weather conditions for traveling through the forested national park.
