Palats Rozumovs'kogo

The Razumovsky Palace in Baturyn is one of the most significant historical landmarks in Ukraine. The magnificent neoclassical palace was built between 1799 and 1803 for Kyrylo Rozumovsky, the last Hetman of the Zaporozhian Host. The grand residence was designed by the renowned Scottish architect Charles Cameron. The building reflects the former political and cultural importance of Baturyn, which served as the capital of the Cossack Hetmanate during the 18th century.

After the Hetman's death, the palace fell into disrepair for a long time and was only comprehensively restored in the early 2000s. Today, the building shines again in its original splendor and houses a museum dedicated to the history of the Ukrainian Cossacks and the Rozumovsky family. Visitors can explore the elegant, restored halls as well as the well-kept parkland that surrounds the estate.

The palace is the centerpiece of the "Hetman's Capital" National Historical and Cultural Reserve. It offers a deep insight into the neoclassical architecture of the early 19th century and a crucial era of Ukrainian state-building. Exploring the grounds is a highly memorable experience.
