Cala Salada
Cala Salada is one of the most beautiful and iconic beaches on the western coast of Ibiza, located just a short distance from the bustling town of Sant Antoni de Portmany. Surrounded by lush, green pine forests that stretch almost all the way down to the water, this stunning cove feels like a secluded natural paradise. The contrast between the vibrant terracotta-colored rocks, the deep green of the trees, and the mesmerizing turquoise water creates a picture-perfect Mediterranean landscape that captivates every visitor.
Unlike some of the more commercialized beaches on the island, Cala Salada has managed to retain its rustic, unspoiled charm. The beach is composed of soft golden sand mixed with a few rocky patches, making it a comfortable spot for sunbathing while offering excellent conditions for snorkeling along the rocky edges. Just a short, slightly adventurous walk across the cliffs to the right lies its sister cove, Cala Saladeta, famous for its even finer sand and spectacular water clarity.
Because of its sheltered position, the waters here are typically very calm and crystal clear, resembling a natural swimming pool. It is a favorite spot for both locals and tourists seeking a more authentic Ibizan beach experience. Sunsets here are magical, though the sun dips behind the surrounding hills slightly earlier than on the open coast, casting a beautiful golden glow over the entire bay.
