Dairy Farm Nature Park (Singapore)

Weather…

Dairy Farm Nature Park covers 63 hectares and was officially opened in 2009 on the site of a former dairy farm established by Cold Storage in the 1930s. At its peak, it was the world's first tropical dairy farm for Holstein-Friesian cows, aimed at providing fresh milk to the local expatriate community. Today, the former milking shed has been converted into the Wallace Education Centre, named after British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace who explored the area in the mid-19th century. The park features the Singapore Quarry at its southern end, which has been transformed into a scenic wetland habitat supporting diverse birdlife and dragonflies. The Wallace Trail provides a rugged hiking experience through secondary forest, showcasing fruit trees and native vegetation. It serves as a crucial ecological link between the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and the Central Catchment area, promoting wildlife movement and environmental conservation.
