The Ministry of Transport approved a 21 million lei investment for the complete rehabilitation of the bridge at the entrance of Bicaz. The project aims to improve road safety and infrastructure durability on the DN 15 national road.
Pyrotechnic teams intervened in the Bicaz area to remove a grenade and ammunition dating back to the Second World War. The dangerous discovery was handled safely to prevent any accidents within the local community.
Bicaz, a small town in Romania's Neamț County, is primarily known as the gateway to two of Romania's most spectacular sights: the Bicaz Gorge (Cheile Bicazului) and the Izvorul Muntelui reservoir, also known as Lake Bicaz. The town itself is picturesquely located at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains and serves as a good base for outdoor adventures. Lake Bicaz, the largest artificial lake in Romania, was created by the construction of the impressive Bicaz Dam. It features sweeping views and opportunities for boat trips and fishing. From here, the road winds through the Bicaz Gorge, one of the most dramatic canyons in the country, with its towering rock walls narrowing the road on both sides. This route is a paradise for photographers and nature lovers. Nearby is also the Ceahlău National Park, considered the Olympus of Romania, offering hikers countless routes through pristine forests and to mystical rock formations. Although the town of Bicaz is small, its importance as a center for tourism in this striking region is enormous.
