Arboretum Wojslawice w Niemczy

Arboretum Wojslawice w Niemczy

The Wojsławice Arboretum, located near the town of Niemcza in Lower Silesia, is one of Poland's most important botanical gardens and a branch of the Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław. Founded in the early 19th century and significantly expanded from 1880 onwards by Fritz von Oheimb, the estate today covers more than 60 hectares in a picturesque, hilly landscape.

The arboretum enjoys international renown primarily for its spectacular collection of rhododendrons and azaleas. With thousands of shrubs that create a sea of color in late spring, the garden houses one of the largest and oldest collections of its kind in Europe. In addition, visitors will find an impressive variety of daylilies (Hemerocallis), peonies, and historic tree stands, including rare conifers and deciduous trees.

The arboretum serves not only as a place of recreation for nature lovers but also fulfills important scientific and educational functions for the preservation of plant biodiversity. The well-maintained paths, ponds, and historic garden elements make Wojsławice an outstanding excursion destination for families and botany enthusiasts alike.
