Tignoan is a coastal barangay in the municipality of Real, Quezon, and has become a favorite destination for travelers from Metro Manila seeking an authentic nature experience. The area is characterized by its rugged Pacific coastline and proximity to the dense forests of the Sierra Madre. It is one of the closest spots to the capital where one can experience true Pacific swells. Real Beach is the primary destination for surfers and leisure seekers. Along the shore, Janelyn Resort and St Michael Beach Resort offer simple but pleasant accommodations good for groups and families. For nature enthusiasts, Ocean Row Beach Resort and Paninap Beach Camp are excellent spots for camping under the stars or staying in beachfront huts. The waves here are particularly strong during the monsoon months. In addition to surfing, Real is famous for its waterfalls like Balagbag Falls and the opportunity for white water rafting on the Tignoan River. The town also features a lively seafood market where you can buy fresh catches to be cooked at local eateries. The journey via the scenic Marilaque road takes about 3 to 4 hours.
