Bacoor, located in the province of Cavite, is a fast-growing suburban city bordering Metro Manila. Due to its strategic location, it has experienced rapid urbanization and population growth, now being one of the most populous cities in Cavite. Bacoor played an important role in Philippine history; it was one of the first towns to join the Philippine Revolution and briefly served as the first capital of the revolutionary government. The city is now a 'bedroom community' for many who work in Metro Manila but also has its own bustling commercial center. It is known for its shellfish culture, particularly oysters and mussels. The Bakood Festival celebrates the city's founding and its rich culture.
