Weather…

Volcán Barú is an active stratovolcano and the highest point in Panama, with an altitude of 3,474 meters. Located in the Chiriquí province, the mountain is part of the Cordillera de Talamanca range. Although its last major eruption was about 400-500 years ago, the volcano is still considered active. The hike to the summit is popular among adventurous tourists; the most dedicated ones start at night to reach the top by sunrise. On a clear day, the summit features a unique view of both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea simultaneously. The area around the volcano is part of the Volcán Barú National Park, which is home to diverse ecosystems, from mountain rainforests to alpine-like areas. The volcanic soil is extremely fertile, contributing to the region's thriving agriculture, especially coffee cultivation.
