Al-Yamun is a historic town located in the Jenin Governorate of the West Bank, positioned on fertile hills about 9 kilometers northwest of the city of Jenin. The area is widely recognized for its rich agricultural heritage, particularly its extensive olive groves, some of which feature ancient trees that have stood for centuries. The local economy is deeply rooted in the production of high-quality olive oil and the cultivation of diverse crops in the surrounding plains, known as Sahel al-Yamun. Historically, the town and its outskirts contain archaeological remains from the Roman and Byzantine eras, alongside several historic mosques that testify to its long-standing cultural significance. Despite its growth, Al-Yamun maintains a strong rural identity and a sense of traditional Palestinian community life. Its strategic location overlooking the Jezreel Valley provides scenic views and makes it a gateway to the northern agricultural heartland, where historical traditions and modern farming practices coexist.
