Lerotholi Polytechnic
Lerotholi Polytechnic is Lesotho’s premier technical and vocational institution, located in the heart of the capital city, Maseru. Established in 1905, it was the visionary creation of Paramount Chief Lerotholi, who sought to empower his people with the technical skills required to build a self-sufficient nation. The campus is architecturally significant, characterized by its historic buildings constructed from hand-cut yellow sandstone, a hallmark of early 20th-century Basotho craftsmanship. Over the years, the institution has transitioned from a small trades school into a comprehensive polytechnic college, offering advanced diplomas in engineering, construction, and information technology. It stands as a symbol of national progress and the long-standing value placed on practical education in Lesotho. Walking through the campus, one can appreciate the blend of academic tradition and modern development, making it a key landmark in Maseru’s social and educational history, continuing to shape the skilled workforce of the Kingdom of Lesotho.
