Ity Gold Mine (Côte d’Ivoire)

Weather…

The Ity Gold Mine in western Ivory Coast is the longest-running gold mine in the country. Since its opening in 1991, it has undergone impressive development. Originally designed as a small heap leach operation, it was expanded by Endeavour Mining into a large-scale CIL (Carbon-in-Leach) plant that commenced operations in 2019. This transformation has significantly extended the mine's life and increased annual production to over 250,000 ounces of gold. The mine is located near the Cavally River and is a major economic engine for the Montagnes region. It provides direct and indirect employment to thousands of people and invests heavily in social projects such as schools and health centers for the surrounding communities.
