Hosmasa "yad la Haganah" Musuem

The Husmasa (or Hosmasa) "Yad LaHaganah" Museum is a significant historical site and park located in the city of Holon, Israel. Originating as a well and a small estate surrounded by sand dunes, the site played a crucial clandestine role during the British Mandate period prior to the establishment of the State of Israel. It stands as an important monument to the efforts and operations of the Jewish paramilitary organization, the Haganah.

Because of its isolated location in the sandy areas south of Tel Aviv, Husmasa was chosen by the Haganah in the 1930s and 1940s as a secret training facility and a concealed depot for storing weapons. The historic building on the site, distinguished by its functional and modernist architectural features, housed hidden compartments where arms were safely kept out of sight from the British authorities. The location was also heavily used for covert communications and signaling exercises.

Today, the complex has been meticulously preserved and transformed into an educational museum set within a tranquil public park. Visitors can explore the original well, examine artifacts from the pre-state era, and learn about the intense training exercises that took place here.
