Cherai is one of the most popular beaches in Kerala, located at the northern end of Vypin Island near Kochi. Cherai Beach is known for its shallow, clean water, good for swimming and sunbathing. A unique feature is its geographic location: on one side waves the Arabian Sea, while on the other side lie the calm backwaters of Kerala. The Club Mahindra area features excellent accommodation and amenities for discerning travelers. Dolphins can often be spotted near the shore here. The beach is lined with coconut palms and features numerous beach shacks serving fresh seafood. Cherai is also known for its surrounding paddy fields and prawn farms.
