Kom Tong Hall (Hong Kong SAR China)

Weather…

Completed in 1914, Kom Tong Hall stands as a premier example of Edwardian Neo-Baroque architecture in the Mid-Levels of Hong Kong. Originally the lavish residence of businessman Ho Kom-tong, the mansion features ornate Greek columns, teak wood paneling, and some of the city's finest stained-glass windows. Historically significant for being one of the first domestic buildings in Hong Kong to utilize an internal iron frame, it survived the rapid urban development of the surrounding district. The building's preservation is a testament to the early 20th-century wealth of the local elite. After being declared a statutory monument in 2010, the mansion was transformed into the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Museum. Today, visitors can admire the meticulously preserved interiors while learning about the life of the revolutionary figure who spent his formative years in the city.
