Royal Mount Carmel Waterfalls (Grenada)

Weather…

The Royal Mount Carmel Waterfalls, also frequently called Marquis Falls, are the tallest on the island of Grenada, plunging over 21 meters down a sheer rock face. Located in the St. Andrew parish just south of Grenville, the falls are reached via an easy 15-minute walk through private farmland. This path features a wonderful opportunity to see Grenada's agricultural bounty, passing by groves of bananas, cassava, and nutmeg trees. The site features two distinct cascades; the larger top fall is dramatic and powerful, while the lower area provides clear natural pools that are first-rate for a refreshing swim in the tropical humidity. The surrounding vegetation is lush and lively, home to various tropical tree frogs and exotic birdlife. Less commercialized than other falls on the island, Royal Mount Carmel retains a peaceful, authentic charm, making it a favorite for hikers looking to experience the serene beauty of the Grenadian interior.
