- The local pebble beaches are beautiful but can be hard on the feet; water shoes are highly recommended.
- Respect the traditional afternoon siesta between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM; keep noise levels down as the village sleeps.
- Visit the nearby coastal settlement of Skala Mistegnon for excellent seaside dining options just a short drive away.

Located on the beautiful eastern coastline of Lesbos island, Nees Kydonies is a tranquil settlement that perfectly embodies the charm of the Northern Aegean. The village remains largely untouched by mass tourism, offering a peaceful retreat characterized by olive trees, small fishing boats, and friendly locals. The authentic tavernas near the shore serve exceptional local cuisine, heavily featuring fresh seafood caught daily by the village fishermen, alongside the island's famous ouzo. It is a place where time slows down. The main beach of the area is Πυραμιές (Pyramies), a serene and uncrowded coastal spot. The beach consists mainly of pebbles and features crystal-clear waters that are excellent for swimming and snorkeling. Because it is not a commercialized resort beach, visitors can enjoy the natural sounds of the sea without the distraction of beach bars. The dramatic coastline has beautiful views, making it a wonderful spot for quiet reflection. Nees Kydonies is situated halfway between Mytilene, the capital of Lesbos, and the northern town of Mandamados. This makes it an excellent base for exploring the eastern side of the island by car.
