Egremni
Egremni is widely considered one of the most breathtaking beaches not only in Lefkada but in the entirety of Greece. Nestled on the southwestern coast of the island, it is famous for its dramatic, towering white cliffs that create a stunning contrast with the unimaginably vibrant turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea. The beach stretches for about 2.5 kilometers, offering a vast expanse of soft white pebbles and sand, ensuring that even during the peak summer months, it rarely feels overcrowded. The isolation provided by the steep cliffs preserves its wild, natural beauty. Following the 2015 earthquake, the famous staircase leading down to the beach was destroyed, making it accessible only by boat for several years. However, the steps have since been reconstructed, allowing adventurous visitors to once again descend the cliffside. The awe-inspiring panoramic view from the top of the stairs is a reward in itself, offering a glimpse of the paradise below. Egremni is not just a beach; it is a majestic natural monument that provides an unforgettable experience for those willing to make the journey.
