Schwedeneck is located on the Dänischer Wohld peninsula in Schleswig-Holstein, directly on the Eckernförde Bay. The community stretches over 16 kilometers of coastline and features an impressive variety of landscapes. Particularly characteristic are the imposing steep cliffs, which allow wide views over the Baltic Sea, and the dense coastal forests that reach almost to the water. A well-known spot is Surendorf, considered one of the best water sports centers in Northern Germany. The FKK Strand Surendorf is also located here, valued for its cleanliness and relaxed atmosphere. The beaches in Schwedeneck are characterized by fine sand and clear water. In the summer months, there is a lively buzz here, while the cooler seasons invite solitary walks along the surf. The surroundings offer excellent conditions for cycling and hiking on well-marked paths. Culturally, the region has much to offer with its old manor houses and thatched-roof houses. The proximity to the state capital Kiel makes Schwedeneck a popular destination for day trippers and vacationers alike. Culinarially, one should try the freshly caught fish rolls (Fischbrötchen) directly at the harbor or in the cozy village inns.
