Weinsberg is located in a memorable setting of rolling vineyards at the foot of the Wartberg hill in Baden-Württemberg. It is legendary for an event that took place in 1140 during a siege by King Conrad III. Granted permission to leave the captured castle with whatever they could carry on their shoulders, the local women carried out their husbands, thus saving their lives. This act of devotion gave the castle ruins their name, 'Weibertreu' (Wives' Faithfulness). Beyond its legends, Weinsberg is a premier center for oenology, hosting the oldest viticultural school in Germany, founded in 1868. The town was also the home of Justinus Kerner, a prominent Romantic poet and medical doctor, whose house remains a cultural hub. Geographically, its location at the 'Weinsberg Interchange,' where the A6 and A81 motorways meet, makes it one of the most accessible and strategically placed towns in southwest Germany.
