Dietenheim is located in the Iller Valley and stands out with its history-rich architecture and a quiet environment close to nature. Closely linked to the historical legacy of the well-known Fugger merchant family, the local cityscape is characterized by lovingly restored burgher houses and the historic town hall. A prominent building is the St. Martinus parish church, whose tower is visible from afar and which features elaborate frescoes in its interior. The flat landscape of the Iller floodplains provides excellent terrain for long cycling tours and walks directly along the river. Every spring, the traditional carnival parade attracts hundreds of spectators with its colorful costumes and hand-carved wooden masks, actively preserving Swabian-Alemannic customs. Visitors taking a break here will find family-run inns serving hearty Swabian specialties and freshly tapped regional beers. Thanks to its location between Ulm and Memmingen, Dietenheim is also a very good starting point for day trips into the Upper Swabia region.
