Expeditions are realistically only possible during the driest months from July to October; outside this window, the steep volcanic slopes turn into impassable and dangerous mudslides.

The physical challenge is immense, featuring a constant, punishing incline through unrelenting tropical overgrowth, intertwined roots, and highly unstable volcanic rocky sections near the top.
What to bring
