Limeil-Brévannes is located in the Val-de-Marne department, roughly 15 kilometers from central Paris. The city is fundamentally defined by its medical heritage and its modern identity as an ecological innovator. It is home to the Émile-Roux Hospital, a leading institution in geriatric medicine and long-term care. In recent years, Limeil-Brévannes has made headlines for its commitment to sustainable architecture, notably hosting France's first large-scale ecological public school. Geographically, the city occupies a strategic position overlooking the Yerres Valley. One of its most prized features is the Parc de la Plage Bleue, a 40-hectare regional park created from a former quarry, now offering a large lake and diverse wildlife habitats. A major infrastructure project currently underway is the 'Câble 1' urban gondola, which will be the first of its kind in the Paris region, connecting Limeil-Brévannes directly to the Metro Line 8 in Créteil. This innovative transport solution aims to overcome the geographic barriers of the local rail and road networks. The town features a diverse residential environment, blending traditional suburban homes with new, eco-friendly apartment complexes.
