Bishoftu, formerly known as Debre Zeyit, is a scenic town in the Oromia Region located just 45 kilometers southeast of Addis Ababa. The town is world-famous for its five striking crater lakes, including Lake Bishoftu, Lake Hora, and Lake Babogaya, which were formed by ancient volcanic activity.
