Marselisborg Forest (Denmark)

Weather…

The Marselisborg Forests stretch south of Aarhus along the coast of Aarhus Bay, covering an area of approximately 1,300 hectares. The terrain features a rolling coastal landscape with deep ravines and ancient beech stands, some of which extend down to the shoreline. Historically, the area was part of the Marselisborg Estate, which came under the ownership of the City of Aarhus in the late 19th century. Located within the forests is Marselisborg Palace, the summer residence of the Danish Royal Family, with its grounds open to the public when the royals are not in residence. In addition to the royal presence, the forest features extensive hiking and cycling paths and the popular Mindeparken (Memorial Park). Ecologically, it serves as a vital refuge for roe deer, foxes, and numerous bird species in close proximity to the city. The blend of cultural landmarks and natural forest tracts makes Marselisborg one of Jutland's premier recreational areas.
