Water temperature…
Ruda is an under-the-radar destination in the Dalmatian hinterland, about 10 kilometers from Trilj. The village is located directly at the source of the Ruda River, a tributary of the Cetina. The source itself is a spectacular natural phenomenon: the water gushes out ice-cold and crystal clear from a deep cave at the foot of the rocks. The area around the source is a popular picnic spot and has incredible refreshment during the summer months. Along the river course in Ruda, one can still find old, partially functional watermills, which were of central importance for grinding grain from the entire region in the past. These mills are valuable monuments of rural architecture. The river is also known for its fish farms, especially for trout, which thrive perfectly in the clean, oxygen-rich water. For hikers and nature lovers, there are marked trails leading along the river and into the surrounding mountains. The village has preserved its original character, and the locals are known for their hospitality. A visit to Ruda can be excellently combined with a tour of the Roman site Tilurium or a rafting trip on the Cetina. It is the excellent place for everyone seeking untouched nature and the soothing sound of flowing water.
