Niagara Falls (United States)

Weather…

Niagara Falls is a collective name for three waterfalls that straddle the international border between Ontario, Canada, and New York, USA. The Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls combine to create the highest flow rate of any waterfall in North America. Niagara Falls State Park, on the American side, is the oldest state park in the United States, designed by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. Visitors can get intimately close to the thundering water via the 'Maid of the Mist' boat tour, which has been operating since 1846, or by descending into the 'Cave of the Winds' to stand on the Hurricane Deck beneath the Bridal Veil Falls. The surrounding area features observation towers, hiking trails along the Niagara Gorge, and an array of tourist attractions including aquariums and casinos. Each evening, the falls are illuminated in a rainbow of colors, creating a magical nighttime spectacle. The falls are easily accessible by car or via Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF). The best time to visit is between June and August when the weather is warm and all seasonal attractions are fully operational. However, winter visits offer a unique sight of 'frozen' falls and intricate ice formations caused by the freezing mist.
