Burnham is an ancient village and civil parish in Buckinghamshire, located between the Thames-side towns of Slough and Maidenhead. With roots stretching back to Saxon times, its name reflects its location near a stream, and it was significantly documented in the Domesday Book of 1086. The village was historically a hub for local agriculture and trade, further established by the founding of Burnham Abbey in 1266, which remains a site of quiet historical beauty today. However, Burnham is perhaps most celebrated for Burnham Beeches, a vast 540-acre ancient woodland managed by the City of London. This woodland is home to some of the oldest pollarded beech trees in the UK and has provided the backdrop for countless iconic films, including the Harry Potter series. Today, Burnham maintains a high street filled with historic character and serves as a premier residential location offering easy access to the M4 corridor and London via the Elizabeth Line.
