💡 Tips
- Take the Cercanías train (Line C-5) for a quick, cheap, and direct route right into the center of Madrid.
- Adapt to the local timetable: lunch is rarely served before 14:00, and dinner won't start until after 21:00.
- Street parking is much easier than in Madrid, but look out for blue parking lines (zona azul) if you want to park for free.
- During hot summer afternoons, do as the locals do and seek shade, take a siesta, or cool off at the municipal pool.
🍽 Food
In most traditional bars around Humanes, ordering a caña (small beer) or wine comes with a generous, complimentary tapa.
Look for a local 'churrería' early in the morning or late at night for fresh fried dough dipped in thick hot chocolate.
A hearty traditional chickpea and meat stew that local restaurants love to serve as a set menu on colder days.
🛍 Shopping · 🧘 Quiet spots
Buy your bread fresh at the small, family-run bakeries around town, where they often bake multiple batches a day.
Check out the local street market on Tuesday mornings to buy fresh produce, olives, and cheap clothing like a local.
A pleasant urban park with shade-providing trees, well-suited for a short stroll or resting on a bench.
Take an early morning walk along the dirt tracks surrounding the urban area for some quiet time before the heat sets in.

Humanes de Madrid is a municipality in the Community of Madrid, located about 23 kilometers south of the Spanish capital. Originally an agricultural village, it has transformed into a major industrial and logistics center in recent decades, with numerous industrial parks. The town provides modern infrastructure and is also a popular residential area for commuters working in Madrid. Although Humanes is primarily an industrial and residential area, it features its residents and visitors green spaces like the Parque de la Solidaridad for relaxation. Culturally, the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán and the Federico García Lorca Cultural Center are the main points of interest. The local gastronomy reflects that of Madrid, with a focus on tapas and traditional stews. Connectivity to Madrid is excellent. The C-5 line of the Cercanías suburban train network directly connects Humanes to the center of Madrid (Atocha, Sol) in about 30 minutes. Several motorways (A-42, M-50) also make the town easily accessible for drivers. The best time to visit is spring or autumn to avoid the extreme summer heat. A visit can be perfectly combined with a city trip to Madrid to escape the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.
