Camiguin is a pear-shaped island in the Bohol Sea known as the 'Island Born of Fire' due to its seven volcanoes, including the active Mount Hibok-Hibok. Its most iconic landmark is the Sunken Cemetery, which submerged after a volcanic eruption in the 19th century and is now marked by a giant cross in the sea. Another must-visit is White Island, an uninhabited sandbar with pristine white sand and memorable views of the mainland volcanoes. The island is rich in natural water features, from the Ardent Hot Springs to the refreshing Sto. Niño Cold Springs. The Katibawasan Falls plunges 70 meters into a rock pool, offering a cool respite from the tropical heat. Visitors can also explore the Giant Clam Sanctuary, home to thousands of colorful bivalves. The best time to visit is from January to May or during the Lanzones Festival in October, which celebrates the island's famous sweet fruit. Camiguin is accessible by air or ferry. Local culinary delights include the Lanzones fruit and 'Pastel,' a soft bun with a sweet custard filling that is the island's signature delicacy.
