Boresanden, often referred to as Borestranda, is one of the most impressive and longest sandy beaches along the Jæren landscape in Rogaland county, Norway. Stretching for about three kilometers, the fine white sand and extensive grass-covered sand dunes provide a spectacular natural setting. The pristine beauty of the rugged North Sea coastline attracts nature lovers, photographers, and walkers alike, all eager to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and sweeping horizons.

Boresanden has gained particular international recognition as one of the premier surfing and kitesurfing destinations in all of Norway. Several surf schools and camps nearby offer lessons and equipment rentals.

While the powerful waves and strong undercurrents can sometimes make swimming a challenge, the raw, untamed atmosphere of the beach is unparalleled. A walk along the surf line, feeling the raw power of the ocean and observing the local birdlife among the dunes, makes a visit to Boresanden an unforgettable experience on the Norwegian coast.

Family-friendly & For kids

Boresanden is fantastic for families who enjoy building sandcastles, flying kites, and walking on the beach. However, due to the strong surf and currents, it is not recommended as a classic swimming beach for toddlers.

Kids love the wide sandy expanses for playing and running in the gentle dunes. The water is generally too choppy for safe splashing, so beach games and kite flying take center stage.
