The site is situated on a sulfurous hill characterized by active geothermal vents and hot springs. To reach the summit, visitors must climb a steep stairway consisting of 2,435 steps that wind around the hillside. At the top, five houses of worship representing the country's major official religions, Islam, Catholicism, Protestantism, Hinduism, and Buddhism, stand together in close proximity. A 22-meter-tall pentagonal pillar serves as the central monument, inscribed with messages of peace and tolerance. The location is also historically significant to the local Minahasa people, as it features carvings of their legendary ancestors, Toar and Lumimuut. Bukit Kasih serves as a powerful reminder of national unity and a serene destination for pilgrimage and reflection.
