Dudhsagar Falls, whose name literally means sea of milk, is one of India's tallest and most spectacular waterfalls, plunging from a height of approximately 310 meters. Located on the Mandovi River at the border between the states of Goa and Karnataka, the falls are situated within the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary. The waterfall is renowned for its four-tiered structure, which creates a massive cloud of white spray during the monsoon season, giving it its namesake appearance. A railway line passes directly across a bridge in front of the falls, offering passengers a unique and thrilling view of the cascading water. The surrounding area is characterized by dense tropical rainforest and rich biodiversity, forming part of the Western Ghats, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Access to the falls is often limited to off-road vehicles or trekking trails due to the rugged terrain, which helps preserve its pristine natural state.
