Colva is a bustling coastal town in South Goa, famous for its kilometers-long fine white sand beach. Once a quiet fishing village, Colva has evolved into a major tourist hub that nevertheless retains its charm through grand Portuguese villas and historical churches. The heart of the town is the 'Our Lady of Merces' Church, built in the 17th century. Colva Beach is the pulsating center of the region. The beach is particularly popular among domestic tourists and gives a wide range of activities, from jet skiing to cozy evenings in the numerous beach shacks. The sand stretches far in both directions, inviting long walks, especially at sunset when the beach is bathed in magical light. The waters are shallow and safe for swimmers. Gastronomy in Colva is diverse, ranging from street food stalls to upscale restaurants serving famous Goan cuisine with Portuguese influences. Fish curries and seafood are a must here. Colva is excellently connected, located only about 6 kilometers from the city of Margao. Access is easy by taxi or bus, making the town a convenient destination for families and leisure seekers.
