Steeped in tradition, Bad Pyrmont in the scenic Weserbergland is one of Germany's most famous spa towns, impressing visitors with its aristocratic architecture and magnificent landscaped parks. The centerpiece of the town is the historic Kurpark, which exudes a subtropical flair thanks to its famous Palm Garden, the northernmost outdoor palm display in Europe, making it an idyllic setting for long, leisurely walks. Right in the town center stands the baroque Pyrmont Castle, surrounded by an impressive moated fortification, which today houses a fascinating museum detailing the town's history. A globally unique natural phenomenon is the Dunsthöhle (Vapor Cave), where carbon dioxide naturally seeps from the ground, a feature that was even used for therapeutic purposes in the past. The elegant Hauptallee, lined with ancient linden trees, boutique shops, and cozy cafes, is the excellent spot to mingle and relax. For ultimate rejuvenation, the modern Hufeland Therme has an expansive sauna and bathing landscape fed by the local healing saline waters. The surrounding forests and hills of the Emmer valley provide numerous hiking trails that perfectly complement the cultural offerings.
