Korntal-Münchingen is a bustling town in the state of Baden-Württemberg, situated directly on the northwestern border of Stuttgart. The town's unique character stems from its two distinct parts: the ancient agricultural village of Münchingen and the religiously founded settlement of Korntal. Münchingen dates back to at least 1130 and retains some of its historic charm with half-timbered houses and the 'Old Castle'. Korntal, however, was established in 1819 by the Evangelical Brethren Congregation, a pietist group that sought to create a community based on strict religious principles. This foundation makes it one of the few examples of a planned religious settlement in Germany. Modern Korntal-Münchingen has evolved into a significant economic hub within the Stuttgart metropolitan region, hosting a variety of automotive suppliers and high-tech firms. Its strategic location near the A81 motorway and integration into the S-Bahn rail network provide residents with excellent mobility, blending suburban tranquility with metropolitan opportunities.
