Roissy-en-Brie is a dynamic and green commune in the Seine-et-Marne department, situated about 30 kilometers east of central Paris. The town's name highlights its location in the historic Brie region, once famous for its vast estates and agricultural wealth. Today, it is best known for its exceptional natural surroundings, with nearly half of its territory covered by the Forest of Roissy and the Forest of Armainvilliers. These woods provide miles of trails for hiking and cycling, serving as a 'green lung' for the eastern suburbs. The local heritage is represented by the 18th-century Château de Roissy, which now houses the municipal offices. Roissy-en-Brie has a reputation as a fertile ground for sporting talent, most notably as the childhood home of football legend Paul Pogba. The community is well-served by modern amenities, including the 'Le Nautil' aquatic center and a diverse range of schools. Its economy is integrated into the Marne-la-Vallée development pole, and its rail station on the RER E line ensures easy access to the heart of the capital. It remains a quintessentially peaceful residential town with a strong focus on family life and ecological preservation.
