💡 Tips

  • To avoid massive queues at the ticket machines after Disneyland closes, buy your return RER A tickets to Paris in the morning or use a Navigo pass.
  • If you want to escape the theme park crowds, head to the historical center of Chessy (Bourg), which retains a traditional village feel.
  • Disney Village has late-night dining and entertainment without needing a park ticket, but restaurants fill up quickly after the fireworks.
  • For cheaper dining and shopping, take the RER one stop to Val d'Europe instead of eating inside the amusement parks.
  • Parking near the train station is cheaper than the main Disney parking lots, making it a good base if you are driving.

Chessy is a commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris, in the Seine-et-Marne department, which has undergone an unprecedented transformation. Originally a small farming village on the Marne river, Chessy was chosen in the late 20th century to be the center of one of Europe's largest urban planning projects: the construction of Euro Disney (now Disneyland Paris). The town is now an integral part of the Val d'Europe sector within the new town of Marne-la-Vallée. Geographically, Chessy benefits from its location on a plateau overlooking the Marne valley. Its architecture is twofold: the historical village center ('Le Bourg') with its traditional charm, and the ultra-modern districts around the Marne-la-Vallée, Chessy railway station. Economically, the town is almost entirely dominated by tourism and the service sector, with thousands of jobs directly linked to the Disney resort and the Val d'Europe shopping center. Despite the massive development, Chessy strives to preserve green spaces and parks to maintain a high quality of life for its residents.
