Abba Garima Monastery

The Abba Garima Monastery is a highly significant Ethiopian Orthodox institution situated near the town of Adwa in the Tigray Region of northern Ethiopia. According to tradition, it was founded in the 6th century by Abba Garima, one of the Nine Saints who traveled from the Byzantine Empire to spread Christianity in Ethiopia.
