Hulunbuir Grassland in Inner Mongolia is widely considered one of the most beautiful and pristine grasslands in the world. Visitors are drawn here to experience the endless green horizons, clear blue skies, and the traditional nomadic lifestyle of the Mongolian people. It has a rare escape from urban life into pure nature. The region is dotted with meandering rivers like the Morzhon River and vast wetlands. You can ride horses across the steppes, stay in authentic yurts, and witness traditional wrestling and archery during the Naadam Festival. The local gastronomy relies heavily on fresh lamb, dairy products, and traditional milk tea. To reach Hulunbuir, most travelers fly into Hailar Dongshan Airport or take a train from major Chinese cities like Beijing or Harbin. From Hailar, local buses or rented cars take you into the heart of the grasslands. The best time to visit is during the brief but spectacular summer, from June to August, when the grass is lushest and wildflowers are in full bloom.
